Schools

We are associated with two schools.  Both are mixed Infant and Junior taking pupils aged from 4 to 11 years.

In the Department of Education and Training 'league tables' they were both placed in the top 25% of schools in the Borough and they are above the average compared to schools of a similar type nationally, as well as locally.

A Controlled C of E School
For contact information and more details you can see the website:  Holy Trinity Website

The school is near the centre of town, in Bank Street, behind the Post Office.

There are about 400 pupils, so the School is quite large for its type, and numbers are still rising slightly.  The overall number of pupils is split fairly evenly between boys and girls. There are 17 full time staff including the Headmaster, and also a number of Assistants.

Ethos
The Christian nature of the schools is an important aspect of  school life.  Worship in school assembly is linked with the worship of the Church.

Worship also reflects on other aspects of human faith, personal endeavour and other notable achievements.

Parents can opt for their child not to take part in collective worship. However, the schools feel very strongly that worship is an integral part of a child’s education.

Clergy teach in the school assemblies and welcome each class of children during the year. There are also other special occasions when children are invited to attend church services. There will be at least one such occasion each term
