Lent Course 2023

LENT COURSE 2023

This year our Lent Course is called


The Long Road to Heaven.
 

It is based on the film ‘The Way.’
 

The film follows the journey of a group of pilgrims walking the Way of St James to Santiago de Compostela.


We will explore the theme of Salvation.
 

Everyone is welcome to join the course.
The book to accompany the course by Tim Heaton is available as a paperback, or as a Kindle edition
(this is NOT essential)

The course will run on Tuesday Evenings 7pm-8.30pm on:

• Tuesday 7th March

• Tuesday 14th March

• Tuesday 21st March

• Tuesday 28th March

 

During the final session we will watch the film from start to finish!

THE WELCOME

Welcome to St Peter's Darwen, the church in the centre of town.  Our Sunday services take place at 9.00am and 10.30am. Our 10.30 Eucharist is live streamed on our Facebook page, and our Wednesday Eucharist takes place at 10.00am in church. Everyone is welcome to come and join us for the services.  And - Junior Church has resumed!

St Peter's (formerly Holy Trinity) is the town centre church in Darwen, Lancashire. 

 

Visitors are guaranteed a warm welcome to any of the services or events taking place.

Safeguarding Policy

The parish of Darwen: St Peter is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and we have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSO(s) Emma Jefferson, Rev Alison Mitchell.  The Diocese of Blackburn's safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contact details for the Diocesan Safeguarding Team (DST) who advise our PSOs.
